New Fences
The best way to protect and preserve your beautiful new wood fence is to have it stained and sealed. We recommend the Fence Stain and Seal products from Wood Defender. This superior product utilizes ultra-fine trans-oxide pigments to highlight the wood’s grain and other positive characteristics, and increase resistance to UV rays. Wood Defender Fence Stain and Seal can be applied to new wood fences using two different methods; pre-installation staining and post installation staining.
Pre-Installation Staining, often called pre-dipping, is completed off site prior to installation. The process starts with allowing the wood to dry to a moisture content of 15% or below. The wood is then stained using an efficient automated system to cover every edge of each board. The colors available for this process are limited to the popular Transparent Fence Stain and Seal colors Leatherwood and Oxford Brown. This is the preferred method for board on board style fencing.
Post-Installation Staining is performed on site after the fence has been installed. The stain sealer is applied to the fence using spray equipment. Care is taken to protect landscaping, pools, decks and other structures on and around the property. Any of the transparent or semi-transparent colors can be applied to a new wood fence using this method.
